Two recipients earned the National Deer Association’s 2024 Hunting Heritage Award for outstanding efforts and commitment to furthering the mission of the NDA’s Field to Fork program – our food-focused mentored hunts for adults. They are Baptist Homes and Healthcare Ministries of Missouri and Whitetail Properties.
Baptist Homes and Healthcare Ministries
Baptist Homes and Healthcare Ministries has partnered with the National Deer Association for the past three years to host multiple Field to Fork hunts in four different Missouri locations. What began as a program to recruit, retain, and reactivate senior hunters has grown to inspire younger generations to take up the pursuit of hunting as well.
In addition, they have worked with the Missouri Department of Conservation on their campus properties to conduct prescribed fires, remove invasive species, and plant food plots, providing better deer habitat and increasing harvest opportunities. They have been a strong advocate for the NDA and have promoted us through numerous publications, podcasts, videos, and radio spots. They are already planning on expanding their senior hunts to a few of their new campuses in Missouri starting next fall.
Whitetail Properties
Whitetail Properties has been a national sponsor of NDA for nearly 20 years. All of their land specialists are required to take our Deer Steward classes with many of them being Deer Steward 2 graduates. They include the NDA on every episode of their Whitetail Properties TV show to discuss deer and habitat and have specifically designed many shows over the past 15 years to showcase our Field to Fork program. In addition to their national sponsorship, they have given a generous donation to support Field to Fork each of the past few years.
