Deer Habitat Enhancement Day
June 10th
Join us for a day in the field learning about deer habitat and how to improve your property for deer and other wildlife. The morning will be filled with talks by local experts on the best practices of designing a property from the ground up. Some of the topics covered are:
Property Layout Designing Corridors for Access and Exit
Creating Bedding Areas Vegetation Selection
Using Water to Hold Wildlife Invasive Species Identification
Oak Management Forestry Considerations
Selection and Planting of Mast Bearing shrubs Rejuvenating Old Apple Trees The afternoon will be filled with property tours with and in-the-field discussions highlighting the topics covered in the morning sessions. Lunch and refreshments provided. Wear comfortable shoes for hiking and bring a chair for outside seminars and round table discussion.
Following the tours, join us for a happy hour to share with one another thoughts, ideas, and best practices.
