Spring Turkey Field to Fork Hunt at Mead Wildlife Area
Ready to experience turkey hunting for the first time—or sharpen your skills with guidance from experienced mentors? Join us on May 9th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM for range practice and skills building from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and then an afternoon hunt and May 10th morning and optional afternoon hunt at the beautiful Mead Wildlife Area for a hands-on Field to Fork experience designed to set you up for success in the field.
This event is perfect for beginners and those looking to build confidence. The morning will include classroom-style instruction covering the fundamentals of turkey hunting—gear, safety, strategy, and scouting—followed by target practice to help you feel comfortable and prepared.
Each participant will be paired with a knowledgeable mentor who will help you develop a personalized hunting plan, including where and when to hunt. After the instructional portion, participants are welcome to head out and apply what they’ve learned in the field that same day. Then on May 10th you will hunt with your mentor for the morning and optionally the afternoon.
Cost: $75
