Volunteer Public Land Workday
Litter Clean Up on the McGee Family Conservation Area
Who’s involved:
Northern Missouri Branch of the NDA, New Hope Creek Wildlife Cooperative, and Missouri Department of Conservation
When:
August 15 @ 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Where:
McGee Family Conservation Area
(exact meet-up location to be provided after you register)
What:
Litter pick-up event to prepare for the 2026-27 archery deer season and celebrate our state’s public lands
The event will begin with Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) staff providing background info/goals of the day. Volunteers will then be given brief safety instructions, assigned to a group/team leader, and turned loose to pick-up litter in pre-determined locations around area parking lots and trails. Most clean-up will be in grassland areas, so bring appropriate footwear and work gloves.
The day will include lunch and camaraderie, so bring a good attitude, a strong back, some protection from ticks, the weather and blisters, and of course, an appetite! We will communicate via email with everyone that registers a few weeks before the event with important details of where to meet, what to bring and more
