First Lite Wins NDA’s 2021 Hunting Heritage Award

The National Deer Association is pleased to present its 2021 Hunting Heritage Award to First Lite, manufacturers of a complete apparel system for hunters who also constantly demonstrate their commitment to conservation and hunting through their support of organizations like NDA.

NDA’s Hunting Heritage award recognizes significant contributions to our hunting heritage with the potential to make lasting impacts for current and future generations of hunters. First Lite became an official sponsor of NDA in 2020. With the launch of First Lite’s new Specter whitetail pattern and the Camo for Conservation initiative, every time someone purchases apparel printed in the new Specter pattern a portion of the proceeds is passed to NDA.

First Lite has also demonstrated strong support for hunter recruitment and diversifying hunting participation and is the title sponsor of NDA’s Field to Fork adult hunter recruitment program, providing starter apparel for all participants such as hunter-orange vests and hunting caps in the Specter pattern. In addition, First Lite’s parent company, Meateater Inc., donated its Michigan “Back40” property to NDA for a Field to Fork community recruitment project. Mark Kenyon of Wired to Hunt, a member of the MeatEater team, served as a mentor on the first Field to Fork hunts held on the Back40 in 2021.

“From the beginning of our relationship with First Lite, the conversations were always aimed at what they can do to support the mission of NDA and do more for deer and hunters,” said Nick Pinizzotto, President and CEO. “Both First Lite and its parent company, Meateater, have walked the walk when it comes to truly making a positive impact on wildlife conservation, and this award is one small way we can show our appreciation for what they’ve done for deer and NDA in particular.”
