Florida Field to Fork Adult Hunter Recruitment Program

NDA’s Field to Fork program is a food-focused hunter recruitment program for adults from non-hunting backgrounds. Field to Fork invites adults outside of the traditional hunting culture to learn every aspect of hunting and sourcing their own protein.

Florida Field to Fork – Learn to Hunt for the First Time

Hunting Made Simple – No Experience Required

The National Deer Association’s (NDA) Field to Fork program has introduced thousands of adults across the country to deer hunting for food. Built specifically for beginners with little or no experience in hunting, shooting, or the outdoors, Field to Fork has become one of the most successful new-hunter recruitment programs in America.

Field to Fork graduates consistently continue to hunt on their own, share venison with family and friends, and even mentor others. More than 80% of participants stay engaged as hunters after their first experience—a remarkable success rate that’s reshaping the future of conservation.

Now, Florida residents can take part in this proven program. The course is completely free, and all the equipment you’ll need is provided. Your only costs are a Florida hunting license - we’ll show you how to buy one - and getting your venison processed.

Even if you’ve never handled a firearm or never set foot in the woods, this course will give you the knowledge, skills, and confidence to get started.

What You’ll Learn

Field to Fork is a hands-on course led by experienced NDA instructors. Over the course of two training sessions and a deer hunt, you’ll learn:

  • Firearm safety and shooting basics in a safe, supportive environment.

  • How to ethically harvest a deer under the guidance of skilled mentors.

  • Step-by-step instruction on cleaning, processing, and preparing venison.

  • Cooking tips and recipes to turn wild game into healthy meals at home.

  • The vital role hunting plays in wildlife conservation.

Your First Guided Hunt

Once you complete the classroom and field training, you’ll join an experienced instructor on a guided deer hunt in your area. They’ll walk you through the process from start to finish—helping you apply your new skills and build the confidence to hunt on your own.

The guided hunt is free, and with your license in hand, you’ll have everything you need to take part.

Why Join Field to Fork?

  • No experience needed – designed for complete beginners.

  • Proven track record – more than 80% of past participants continue hunting independently.

  • Free program – all gear, instruction, and the guided hunt are included.

  • Healthy, sustainable food – venison is lean, high in protein, and 100% free-range.

  • Community – join a welcoming network of mentors and new hunters.
