
At their December meeting, the Board of Directors of the National Deer Association voted to welcome three new members: John McNamara of Connecticut, Jason Sumners of Missouri and Kyle VanFleet of New Jersey.
John McNamara of Connecticut currently serves as Vice President, Member Services for the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) — the trade association for the hunting and shooting sports industry, which represents over 10,000 firearm, ammunition and outdoor trade businesses nationwide. His strategic leadership spans member engagement, industry education, and oversight of conservation-focused grant programs and projects in collaboration with federal groups, state agencies, and NGO’s.
Jason Sumners of Missouri is the Director of the Missouri Department of Conservation. He served in a range of leadership roles since joining MDC, including helping guide statewide wildlife and resource management with a strong focus on science-based conservation and leading the state’s deer management program.
Kyle VanFleet of New Jersey is the co-founder of Scent Blender and is an MD in investment banking at Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC. He is an avid deer hunter who grew up in Pennsylvania bowhunting public lands with his father and brothers. He attended Georgetown University (’08) where he was captain of their football team and recipient of the Duffey Award, which is given to top student athlete.
NDA Board members serve four-year terms. These new directors bring the NDA Board to 18 members. Current NDA Board officers include Sam Burgeson of Minnesota, Chairman; Chris Dolnack of Florida, Vice Chairman; Greg Simons of Texas, Treasurer; and Natalie Krebs of Arkansas, Secretary.
