For far too long, Massachusetts hunters have been limited by one of the strictest Sunday hunting bans in the nation. But change may be on the horizon! Three new bills—HD 95, HD 427, and HD 2292—have been filed, each aiming to lift restrictions on Sunday hunting. These bills present an opportunity to modernize outdated laws and give hunters more freedom to enjoy their passion. The National Deer Association (NDA) supports the opportunity to expand hunting access by lifting the Sunday hunting restrictions.
Why This Matters:
Sunday hunting increases access for hunters and provides the opportunity of additional days allowed to participate in this time-honored tradition, especially for those with limited weekday availability. By allowing Sunday hunting, we can better enhance wildlife management, support local economies, and help foster a stronger connection with nature.
Take Action Now:
Now is the time to make your voice heard. Take action now and reach out to your local legislators and ask them to vote “yes” on these three bills. You can also encourage fellow hunters to get involved and share their support to their legislators as well. Be sure to sign up for NDA’s newsletter and action alerts to track these bills through the legislative process and stay informed on other legislation happening that could impact you.
Together, we can ensure Massachusetts hunters have more opportunities to enjoy the outdoors and contribute to the stewardship of our natural resources.
