NDA recently welcomed two new interns to the team. Jamie Wiseman and Emri Zorn will work side by side with NDA staff in the Conservation department to support the organization’s efforts during the second half of 2024. Both individuals bring their own impressive skills and unique background knowledge to the team. NDA is thrilled to have additional team members whose skill sets align so well with the NDA mission and goals.
Wiseman (above, right) graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife/Conservation Biology from Southeast Missouri State University. In addition to his school work, Wiseman has extensive training in prescribed fire, the safe use of chainsaws, and he’s an NDA Level I Deer Steward. Since graduating, Wiseman has served as a wildlife technician for both the Missouri Department of Conservation and the North Carolina Wildlife Resource Commission, and as a wildlife consultant and game keeper for multiple large, private landowners. He will be assisting NDA’s Senior Director of Conservation, Matt Ross during his internship.
Zorn graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a graduate certificate of Wildlife Management from Brigham Young University – Hawaii and will be assisting NDA’s Chief Conservation Officer, Kip Adams. She served as a Biology teaching assistant while attending school, and has since served in a couple of research roles for prairie dogs and bobwhite quail. Zorn hopes to use her time with NDA to broaden her experience as she works to become a professional wildlife biologist.
“We had several great candidates for this round of internships, and I’m continually impressed with the quality of aspiring wildlife professionals interested in them,” said NDA Chief Conservation Officer Kip Adams. “Emri and Jamie are very talented and I’m excited to work with them during the next 6 months.”
Wiseman and Zorn will serve as NDA interns through December 31, 2024. Future internship opportunities with NDA will be posted on the Employment Page, and are offered in six-month rotations.
